Wilson Palacios could become Hull City's first signing of the summer after joining the club on a two-week trial.
The former Tottenham and Stoke midfielder, who is currently training with the Tigers in Portugal as part of their warm-weather camp, is in line to make his City debut in Friday's opening pre-season friendly against North Ferriby United, according to the Hull Daily Mail.
Having been released by Stoke at the end of last season, for whom he made just 38 league appearances across three seasons, the 30-year-old is looking to ignite his career once again under a familiar figure in Steve Bruce - the duo worked together at Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic.
Despite experiencing a disappointing spell at the Britannia Stadium, Palacios' time spent in the Premier League hasn't been all doom and gloom. He was once regarded as one of the most accomplished midfielders in the English top flight, with the likes of Manchester United interested in his services, according to the Telegraph, particularly during his time at Wigan.
HITC Sport revealed earlier this month that the Honduras international had linked up with Bolton Wanderers on trial, but he is now on the move again.
With Hull preparing for an instant return to the top flight, Palacios' experience could prove key for the Tigers. Bruce will be looking to his older heads to lead the fight, in what is expected to be a gruelling season spent in the second tier.
