Celtic fans react on Twitter to former Manchester City defender Dedryck Boyata's performance against Stjarnan.
Dedryck Boyata had a dream start to his Celtic career, scoring on his competitive debut.
The Belgian defender netted in the Champions League no less, heading home the opener in Celtic's 2-0 victory over Stjarnan.
His goal was followed up by a strike from Stefan Johansen, but they could have been in an even better position had Leigh Griffiths not missed a late penalty.
The clean sheet was an encouraging sign, especially with Virgil van Dijk suspended, Celtic needed an encouraging performance from new signing Boyata.
The former Manchester City defender offered positive signs that he is able to replace Jason Denayer, a loanee from City who won acclaim for his performances for the Scottish Premiership side last season.
Second half scorer Stefan Johansen also had a hand in Boyata's goal, providing the cross from a corner for the centre-back to head home.
Celtic boss Ronny Deila said in his press conference, as reported the club's official twitter feed: "In the end, I’m a little bit disappointed that we didn’t score more. But it’s good we have a clean sheet and two goals to go on."
