The Bosnia and Herzegovina international moved to Stamford Bridge to replace Petr Cech this week after five years at the Britannia.
Asmir Begovic has this week swapped his place as first choice Stoke City goalkeeper to become Chelsea's deputy to Thibaut Courtois, and not surprisingly lots of fans had an opinion on the matter that they aired on Twitter.
He signed for around £8 million, according to BBC Sport, arriving on a four-year deal.
The Bosnian will take up the number one shirt that Petr Cech vacated when he left for Arsenal, but he will have to go some to dislodge Belgium international Courtois, widely thought of as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
Begovic may well find himself only involved in domestic cup matches and some Champions League games, but there is likely to be little doubt as to who would start the crunch matches that the Blues are likely to face at various points of the season.
The 28-year-old made 172 appearances for the Potters, who will now look to English Under-21 captain Jack Butland and new signing of veteran Irishman Shay Given.
Many Stoke fans questioned their former goalkeeper's decision to accept a place on the bench, while Chelsea fans were delighted to have secured the signing of a quality second stopper.
Below are a selection of comments from Twitter:
Asmir Begovic has completed his move to Chelsea as you may know, but a player of his quality should not be left to rot on the bench #SCFC— Horizon Transfers (@HorizonTransfer) July 13, 2015

Begovic is a coup. Too good to be back-up but if he's committed for 18 months+ I'm very happy. Keeps some pressure on Thibaut too #cfc— Josh Robinson (@RobboandChels) July 13, 2015
