Celtic are looking for success on every front this coming season.
Celtic are always looking for success in every tournament they enter, and Scott Brown has told a press conference that the 2015/16 season is no different.
SB on season expectations: You never know what will happen at the end of the season but we want to win what we enter.— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) July 14, 2015
SB: We have to try and push to the group stages. We had a few chances last season. #UCL— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) July 14, 2015
Domestic silverware is a must for Ronny Deila, following the league and League Cup success in 2014/15, and many will be keen to see the Bhoys complete a treble this term. The Scottish Cup eluded them due to the semi-final loss, and Deila will be looking to go one better next term.
The real area for improvement in 2015/16 will be in the Champions League, having failed to reach the group stages last term.
The Bhoys were knocked out in the qualifying stages - despite having two attempts after Legia Warsaw’s elimination - and they will be looking to at least make it to the group stages of the proper competition.
Brown is keen to see the club make it to the group stages, and any success on top of that is a bonus. The Scottish champions will not be considered one of the likely teams to progress to the knock-out stages - unless handed a beneficial draw in the group stages - but it should be considered a failure if they do not at least get into the first proper round of Europe's premier competition.
