Grant Ward is enjoying a sensational start to his pre-season with Rotherham United.
The central midfielder was in action for the club in a pre-season friendly game against non-league Alfreton Town last night, and stepped up, scoring two goals.
It brought his tally to four strikes in three games, having netted over the weekend as a trialist.
The 20-year-old had told local paper The Star that he aimed to become a valuable goalscorer for the club, after his loan deal was confirmed, and early on he is true to his word.
Ward featured on Tottenham's post-season tour of Asia, and while he is on loan for a reason, if he can take his pre-season form into the Championship, he will really make a name for himself.
Boss Steve Evans told the club website Rotherham beat off rival clubs to land Ward on loan, and judging from his early form they are fortunate to do so.
While only against non-league opposition, fans were raving about the new signing via Twitter after his brace...

Grant Ward better not end up like John Swift, doing good in pre-season then being benched every game then being recalled #rufc— Joe Piper (@piperjoee) July 14, 2015
