Leeds United fans react on Twitter to signing of Tom Adeyemi

Leeds United 2

The Cardiff midfielder signed a season-long loan with Leeds United.

As confirmed by the official Leeds website, Tom Adeyemi signed a season-long loan with the Whites, joining from Cardiff City.

A product of the Norwich City academy, the 23-year-old becomes the fifth signing of Leeds United’s summer, following Charlie Horton, Lee Erwn, Chris Wood and Sol Bamba.

An energetic midfielder, Adeyemi arrives as a replacement for Rudy Austin, who left Elland Road at the end of last season when his contract expired. He has a wealth of Football League experience, and has played under head coach Uwe Rosler before - when he moved on loan to Brentford in 2012.

He may be young and yet to reach his potential, but he is a proven quantity in the Championship, and brings competition and cover to a midfield already well stocked - with the likes of Luke Murphy, Lewis Cook and Alex Mowatt all established stars at Elland Road.

It was a signing which came out of nowhere, but on the surface there are many reasons why Rosler has targeted Adeyemi. He fills a role in the team absent since Austin's departure, and following the completion of the deal, Leeds fans took to Twitter to express their pleasure at the loan signing.
