Former West Bromwich Albion striker Chris Wood joined Leeds United from Leicester City earlier this month.
The 23-year-old striker joined the Whites from Premier League outfit Leicester City earlier this month.
Wood made his debut for the West Yorkshire club on Friday evening, starting the pre-season friendly against Harrogate Town away from home.
The former West Bromwich Albion man played alongside Mirco Antenucci up front, with fellow summer signing Erwin deployed just behind the two strikers.
Wood admits that it will take time for the players to develop an on-pitch understanding, but he is happy with how they played on Friday.
“It’s going to take some time for us all to click together but I did feel at times that we worked off the same page,” the New Zealand international told Leeds’ official website. “It worked really well at times.”
Given the competition for places, there is no guarantee that Wood, Antenucci and Erwin will always play together, but on paper it does look like a very good option.
Wood and Erwin are summer signings, and they will have to be given chances to show what they are capable of.
Antenucci is a truly good forward who scored as many as 10 goals and created 22 chances in 36 Championship appearances last season.
