HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Wigan Athletic have seen a bid for Charlton's Callum Harriott turned down.
Wigan boss Gary Caldwell is looking to bring in some wingers to the DW Stadium this summer and he has targeted a move for Harriott.
A number of other clubs have been linked with Harriott, but Wigan are keen to win the race for the 21-year-old's signature as Caldwell aims to build a side capable of winning promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
Harriott has been in and out of the Charlton side since making the breakthrough into the first-team in 2011.
The England Under-19 international enjoyed his best campaign in the 2013-14 season making 34 appearances and scoring six goals, but he made just 23 appearances last term.
Wigan have seen their first offer rejected for Harriott, but they are expected to come back with a second bid as they look to lure the skilful winger to the club this summer.
