Georginio Wijnaldum has joined Premier League outfit Newcastle United from Dutch giants PSV.

Georginio Wijnaldum rejected the chance to join seven-time European Cup winners AC Milan to move to Newcastle United, the midfielder’s agent has been quoted as saying by

"He definitely wanted to go to England,” Humphrey Nijman is quoted as saying by “AC Milan also had interest, but England was where he preferred to go.”

Good signing for Newcastle United

Wijnaldum has become the first signing of the summer transfer window for Newcastle, arriving at the club from Dutch giants PSV over the weekend.

The Netherlands international was one of the best players in the Eredivisie and helped PSV win the league title last season.

The former Feyenoord star scored 14 goals and created 41 chances in 33 Eredivisie games during the 2014-15 campaign.

The 24-year-old had a pass accuracy of 84% and a shot accuracy of 54%, and won 17 headers, 63 dribbles and 26 tackles.

Newcastle fans will now hope that the club make a few more signings like Wijnaldum and push for a top-10 finish in the Premier League during the 2015-16 campaign.
