The young Belgian star is excited by his move to Atletico Madrid and La Liga.
Yannick Ferreira Carrasco completed the formalities of his medical, then his official presentation to fans and the media on Monday, following his move from Monaco to Atletico Madrid.
The 21-year-old was a big summer transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur, who will be undoubtedly disappointed to have missed out on signing such a talented player, having switched to Los Colchoneros for a fee of around £14 million.
Via the official Atletico Madrid website, the player underlined: "I've played for many years with Monaco and I wanted to take a step forward. I knew Atletico are a great club, who play in the Champions League, go far in that competition and are amongst the top three sides in La Liga."
Regarded as a direct replacement for Arda Turan, after the Turk moved to Barcelona just a matter of days ago, Carrasco simply responded: "No I'm not."
He then highlighted the abilities he has to offer: "I'm a player with a lot of pace, fast with the ball. I'll work hard to be in the starting eleven at Atletico Madrid."
Carrasco then concluded with a message to Atletico fans, promising them: "I'm hope I'll play really well, score lots of goals, give lots of passes, and give everything I've got for this shirt."
Clearly delighted at having signed the flying winger, club president Enrique Cerezo enthused: "Carrisco is an attacking midfielder who stands out for his speed, his good control of the ball, his skills and his shooting. Qualities that I'm sure he'll demonstrate very soon and which we'll all enjoy at the Vicente Calderon."
