A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Tottenham Hotspur this Monday evening.
Tottenham midfielder Benjamin Stambouli seemed on course for a move to Watford this week, the Daily Mirror reported last night, but the London Evening Standard is reporting that the Hornets fear the deal could fall through because the midfielder is stalling over a potential move.
The Mirror reported that Stambouli had agreed personal terms and the deal would go through, subject to a medical, but the Standard believes that the Frenchman has yet to sign a deal with the Premier League new boys and they are worried he is having second thoughts. They report a fee of around £5.5 million has been agreed between the two clubs.
If Stambouli were to join Watford, he would follow fellow Frenchman Etienne Capoue from White Hart Lane to Vicarage Road.
Ward has been training with the League One club this summer, and their manager Steve Evans seems delighted to land the 20-year-old - who had a spell on loan at Coventry City last term.
It's been said that Ward had several opportunities to go on loan to a Championship side, but opted to play for Rotherham instead.
Evans said: “Grant has a big career in front of him and he now has the opportunity to make steps up the ladder with a successful loan spell with the Millers.”
