People News: Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, UBS

EXIT

Mariano Gaut, a 20-year Citigroup veteran who most recently served as the bank's co-head of Latin America capital markets origination, has left the firm, two sources familiar with the situation told IFR.

Gaut became co-head of the group with Chris Gilfond in 2013, after the bank combined its Latin America debt and equity capital markets business.

In the meantime, Bloomberg News reports that Derek Capanna, co-head of equity sales at Deutsche Bank, is departing for UBS, according to two people with knowledge of the matter.

Capanna, who was a managing director at Deutsche Bank, will head equities distribution at UBS, one of the people said, asking not to be identified because the information isn’t public. Jonny Potter, who had been running equity sales at Deutsche Bank with Capanna, will assume his responsibilities from London, another person said.
