Jason Denayer has signed a new contract with Premier League outfit Manchester City.
The Premier League giants have announced the news on a statement on their official website.
The Belgium international defender has put pen to paper on a new five-year contract with the Citizens.
Denayer has been on the books of City since 2013, when he joined them from JMG Academy.
The 20-year-old played on loan for Scottish Premiership giants Celtic during the 2014-15 season and gave a good account of himself.
The promising young centre-back helped the Bhoys win the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish League Cup.
It will be interesting to see if Denayer gets to play for the City first team next season.
The youngster has yet to make his Premier League debut for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, but his performances for Celtic suggest that he is ready.
Perhaps City will loan him out to a Premier League club for the 2015-16 campaign in order to see how he copes with the rigours of top flight football in England.
