Former Celtic defender and Leeds United loanee O’Dea will play for Mumbai City, managed by ex-Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion forward Anelka.
The 28-year-old former Leeds United loanee will play under former Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion forward Nicolas Anelka for the Indian Super League club.
O’Dea, who has also featured for Toronto FC, Metalurh Donetsk and Blackpool, is delighted to be moving to India.
Delighted to say I'll be playing in India with @MumbaiCityFC next season! Looking forward to the new challenge and experience!— Darren O'Dea (@odea_darren) July 13, 2015
It will be a good experience for the Republic of Ireland defender to be playing in India, but he should be back in the UK before 2016.
That’s because the 2015 Indian Super League campaign will start in October and end in December. This means that O’Dea will be looking for a new club in January 2016.
Mumbai City finished seventh in the Indian Super League table in 2014 with just 16 points from 14 matches, just a point above bottom-placed NorthEast United.
