Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to social networking site Twitter to bid Iker Casillas a fond farewell.
Casillas is leaving Spanish giants Real Madrid for Portuguese outfit FC Porto, having won multiple honours with Los Blancos.
The 34-year-old Spain international had been at Madrid his entire career and is widely considered as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time.
Ronaldo, who joined Madrid from United in the summer of 2009, hopes that Casillas succeeds at Porto and is honoured to have played with him for two years.
The Portugal international posted the following message on Twitter which when translated from Spanish reads: “Iker, I am proud to have worked with you for so many years. Good luck on the new chapter!”

United goalkeeper David de Gea will reportedly replace Casillas at Madrid.
According to The Sun, the 10-time European champions are interested in signing the Spain international this summer.
However, the Red Devils want De Gea’s future to be sorted today, as they are flying out on their USA tour this afternoon.
