If Leeds United fans wanted a snapshot of how highly rated Tom Adeyemi is, a look at the angry reaction from Cardiff City supporters should say it all.
The BBC reported last night how Leeds are set to sign the central midfielder on a season long loan deal, just 12 months after he joined Cardiff.
Adeyemi is just 23-years-old and arrived highly rated after an impressive spell at Birmingham City. He has experience with Oldham, Norwich City, and Brentford, where he played under present Leeds head coach Uwe Rosler.
He will provide cover for Leeds' injured midfielder Luke Murphy, and also fill out the midfield with Rudolph Austin released earlier this summer.
It is difficult to see what benefit Cardiff are getting from sending him out on loan to a Championship rival, who finished just six points behind them in 2014/15.
The decision has perplexed supporters, with some even calling for the sacking of boss Russell Slade, who see it as just one more poor call the former Leyton Orient manager has made since arriving at the club as a replacement for Ole Gunnar Solkjaer, the man who signed Adeyemi.
Here is a look at the reaction to the deal from a Cardiff City perspective, and these are the tweets which did not contain swearing...
Loaning out Adeyemi, is this some kind of sick joke?— James Lambert (@TheLamberto) July 13, 2015
Why is Slade loaning out Adeyemi? He showed promise in the CM and we need tough, battling midfielders in this division. #CCFC— z.iles (@zoeiles) July 13, 2015
Play Dikgacoi yet send Adeyemi out on loan? That's not good from Slade...— Andrew Morgan (@Andyyy_M) July 13, 2015
I would choose probably 95% of the squad to get rid of before Adeyemi. Slade, hang up you cap and shut the door behind you— Cory (@Cory_John_98) July 13, 2015
Why is slade letting Tom Adeyemi go are central midfield needs strengthening slade really does not have a clue #sladeout— jareth phillips (@ccfcjazz) July 13, 2015
Questionable decision from Slade to loan out a player of Adeyemi's quality. Young and good in both CM roles, to a Championship rival too..— CCFC Central (@CCFC_Central) July 13, 2015
