The German has slowly became an important part of the side at the Emirates and Wenger is anticipating a big things from him next season.
According to The Daily Star, the German is a target for Italian champions Juventus, who are looking to add a creative number 10 to their midfield for next season.
Ozil though, is very much a vital part of the team at the Emirates Stadium with Wenger having even moved Santi Cazorla into a central midfield role last season so as to further accommodate him.
And the Frenchman says that it will be a big season for his star attacking midfielder.
"It's a big season for him because he had a difficult start last year and in the second half of the season he was very important,” he told Arsenal.com.
"He has improved his defensive attitude, he works hard and offensively he is a top-class player.
"There are many offensive players who have an important season in front of them this year, but I'm confident, because I think they have the quality."
A new striker could see Ozil return to Madrid form
It is hard to argue with Wenger believing that next season is a big one for Ozil, with the German likely to play a big part in any potential Premier League title challenge.
It’s undeniable that he plays an integral part at the Emirates, although he is as yet to recapture the kind of form he showed at previous club Real Madrid, where his impressive assists tally was well known.
He started to hint at that kind of form with Alexis Sanchez in the side last season though, and should the Gunners bring in a top centre-forward this summer, it’s not hard to imagine Ozil playing as big a part as Wenger is anticipating.
