An updated predicted Tottenham Hotspur side for next season

Tottenham Hotspur could have a very attractive looking team heading into next season.

Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the most active sides in the transfer market already this summer, as manager Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy, look at ways the club can get closer to the Holy Grail of Champions League football.

Pochettino deserves praise for adding bodies in an area, which was problematic last season, the defence, with plenty of time left for him to address other key areas of the squad and to adapt if any key players leave.

Tottenham finished fifth last season, which gives them a platform to work and build on heading into the new campaign, as the boss experiments to try and find the best possible combination of players to take into the next campaign.

Prediction: Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Dembele, Bentaleb, Mason, Eriksen, Mirallas, Kane

Firstly, it’s important that the boss gives players who excelled last season the chance to build on the momentum they have created for themselves.

It would be a major surprise if Harry Kane didn’t start as the club’s main centre forward, while a combination of Nabil Bentaleb, Ryan Mason and Christian Eriksen all excelled in terms of their central midfield roles with the club.

There are some big questions for Pochettino to answer in terms of who starts across the back four, with the experience of Kyle Walker putting him ahead of DeAndre Yedlin and Kieran Trippier, while Toby Alderweireld’s relationship and friendship with Jan Vertonghen, could see them as the key centre back pairing.

In terms of transfers, it’s going to be tough for the club to keep Hugo Lloris in place if other sides start offering some big money and there is the potential to bring in an experienced wide player.

That man could be another Belgian; Kevin Mirallas of Everton, with the Daily Mirror recently reporting that Pochettino is ready to step up his interest in the midfielder.

Tottenham have a great opportunity to break the top four next season and the manager has got things moving in the right direction.
