Aleksandar Mitrovic may be on Newcastle United’s radar at the moment, but it is business as usual for him at Anderlecht.
The Serbia international striker has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League outfit Newcastle this summer.
“The formalisation of the transfer will be made in the coming hours,” Pini Zahavi told The Chronicle last week. “Mitrovic and will sign a contract for five seasons for the former club of Philippe Albert.”
However, there has been no announcement from either Newcastle or Anderlecht regarding a deal, and Mitrovic has continued training with his teammates.
Below are some of the photos of the 20-year-old training with Anderlecht for the past two days.
Good signing for Newcastle United?
Mitrovic is a highly-rated young striker, and the fact that he is a regular for the Serbia national team shows that he is ready to join a big European club.
The youngster is certainly promising, and working under an experienced and reputed manager like Steve McClaren is only going to make him better.
However, the 20-year-old is still untested and will be a ‘gamble signing’. True, the youngster has done well in European competitions, but he has yet to show his calibrate in a top domestic league.
This means that the Newcastle fans will have to be patient and afford Mitrovic time to settle in at St. James’ Park.
