The Manchester United player is on his way to Turkey to complete a move away from Old Trafford.
Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has been photographed on board a plane and posing with the scarf of his next club, Fenerbahce.
The images were posted on the player's official Twitter account and the Turkish side's account respectively.
The Netherlands international has not been at his best recently for United but it still comes as a surprise that he has been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
When Louis van Gaal took charge at United, he was tipped to get the best out of his countryman, so few would have expected that just 12 months later van Persie would be waving goodbye.
The 31-year-old had a wonderful debut campaign at United firing the club to the Premier League title with his 26 goals and 15 assists. But more recently injuries have taken their toll and van Persie currently has 58 goals in 105 matches for the club.
With Memphis Depay arriving this summer it will be interesting to see how the young Dutchman is utilised but with van Persie on his way to Turkey it would still be a big surprise if United did not sign another quality out-and-out striker before the latest transfer window closes.
