According to a report from the Sunday People, Real Madrid are considering a £22m offer from Liverpool for winger Denis Cheryshev.

The Reds reportedly made the bid last week and their former manager Rafa Benitez – now in charge at the Bernabeu – is said to be discussing the prospect of selling the Russian with Real’s hierarchy.

Cheryshev is a 24-year-old wide-man who plays predominantly on the left but can occupy the opposite flank if required.

He has featured just once for Real’s first-team but has scored 11 goals for Real Madrid Castilla and recently impressed on loan at Villarreal, scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists in 40 games.

The latest report suggests that if Cheryshev does arrive at Anfield, Liverpool youngster Jordon Ibe could head out on loan again.

In other news, the Daily Star claims Manchester City have made a third bid for Liverpool player Raheem Sterling.

It is being reported that this offer is more than £40million but less than Liverpool’s £50million valuation.

Sterling has been named in Liverpool’s touring party for their pre-season trip to the USA but it remains to be seen if he will still be a Reds player by the time they jet off.
