The former Celtic loanee is now on the books at the La Liga side.
Former Liverpool striker Iago Aspas has taken to Twitter to send a message to John Guidetti following the Swede’s permanent move to Celta Vigo – and considering the latter has played for Manchester City and Celtic in the past, supporters of those clubs may be interested to read the wording of the tweet.
“Welcome to a big club, John Guidetti” Aspas wrote, although it is not the first time he has turned out for a side deserving of that mantle.
Guidetti may have only featured once for City prior to leaving on a free transfer this summer, but he was on their books for quite a while, and he also enjoyed a very productive loan spell at Celtic last season.
In his time in Scotland the 23-year-old scored 15 goals and provided 12 assists in 35 matches, but despite looking for a time like he could remain at Celtic for the long haul things did not work out and now he finds himself starting afresh in Spain.
It is no surprise Aspas sees Celta as a big club given his affiliation with them, but this is not the first time Guidetti has played for such a side. The question is: Can he find the consistency needed to call the club his home for the foreseeable future?
