The German international is looking forward to getting started at Manchester United.
Bastian Schweinsteiger has taken to Twitter following the news that he will be moving to Manchester United this summer.
The deal was announced on Saturday, with United and Bayern Munich agreeing a fee for the 30-year-old and a deal going through subject to a medical and personal terms.
Schweinsteiger is exactly the kind of player United need as they look to get back to their best both domestically and in Europe and if he remains fit he could go down as manager Louis van Gaal’s best signing to date.
“I’m really looking forward to the new challenge at Manchester United,” the German international wrote on Sunday, posting a picture of him on a plane.
Assuming everything goes according to plan he should then be stepping on another plane along with his new United teammates ahead of their pre-season tour of the USA.
Schweinsteiger played 500 senior games for Bayern and leaves as a bona fide legend at the Allianz Arena.
He has also played 111 times for Germany and his experience will be invaluable as van Gaal begins his second season in charge at United.
There are sure to be more new additions this summer but if he can display his best form, few will excite the Old Trafford faithful as much as the German maestro.
