Replacing a striker who has produced such excellent displays, as well the many goals Carlos Bacca scored for Sevilla, is by no means an easy task for the Europa League winners.
According to Estadio Deportivo, the search for the man who will fill the boots vacated by the Colombian at the Sanchez-Pizjuan, will end definitively in a matter of days.
They report that Italian international striker Ciro Immobile will complete a €12 million move to Sevilla early next week, after a €12 million transfer fee was agreed with Borussia Dortmund.
25-year-old Immobile is currently in Naples with family, where he's enjoying a short break, after participating in an Asian tour with the German club. From there, he's waiting for a call from the Spanish club, so that his move can be officially completed.
At this stage it is believed that Immobile will head to the Andalucian city on Monday, when he'll undergo the formalities of his medical and contract signing.
Although the move for Immobile appears to be the popular choice amongst Sevilla fans, in truth, his scoring numbers were far from impressive with Borussia Dortmund, managing just three goals in 24 appearances in the Bundesliga, of which only nine outings were in the starting eleven during the 2014-15 campaign.
However, his record was somewhat better in cup competitions. Along with three strikes in three encounters in the DFB-Pokal, Immobile scored four goals in five Champions League appearances, which is very appealing to Sevilla, as they compete in the elite European competition this coming season.
