Reported Arsenal target Mehmet Topal is likely to remain in Turkey, his agent has told Turkish-football.com.
The Metro previously reported that a mystery club, believed to be Arsenal, had tabled a bid of £5 million for the Turkey international.
However, the Fenerbahce star's agent, Batur Altiparmak, has since rebuffed the suggestion that his client could swap Turkey for England.
Speaking to Turkish-football.com, Altiparmak said: “Mehmet is likely to be at Fenerbahce next season.”
A defensive midfielder by trade, Topal previously spent time in Spain with La Liga outfit Valencia, playing 59 games and scoring three goals during a two-year spell at the club.
That tally included a memorable strike against Stoke City in the Europa League, which helped Los Che progress 2-0 on aggregate against the Potters.
Coming from all of 30 yards out, the goal showcased another, lesser seen, aspect to the midfielder's game.
Capped 49 times by Turkey to date, Topal was an instrumental part of the team that progressed to the semi-finals of Euro 2008 under Fatih Terim.
Prior to spells with Fenerbahce and Valencia, the 29-year-old was a regular for Galatasaray.
