Tottenham Hotspur won 4-0 against Southend United in a training centre match this weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur stepped up their pre-season campaign with a training centre friendly match against Southend United on Saturday.
The match allowed summer signings Kieran Trippier and Kevin Wimmer to get their first taste of action in a Spurs shirt, and they will no doubt be pleased with the end result which ended 4-0 to Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
Tottenham’s goals came courtesy of Josh Onomah, Nathan Oduwa, Danny Rose and a 30-yard belter from Nabil Bentaleb, and a picture of that moment was later posted on the club’s official Twitter account.
Andros Townsend also came close, striking the post in the second half, and that performance came shortly after the Mirror claimed Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood was not put off by Tottenham’s £15million valuation of the player.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Townsend, along with a number of his Tottenham teammates.
After all, with Trippier and Wimmer already joined by Toby Alderweireld this summer, and with more signings likely to follow, there are sure to be some more departures before the transfer window closes.
