Paul Gascoigne has taken to social networking site Twitter to back Steve McClaren for success at Newcastle United.
The former Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest manager was appointed the Magpies’ head coach earlier this summer following his dismissal from Championship outfit Derby County.
Former Newcastle and Rangers midfielder Gascoigne seems to be a fan of McClaren and has backed him to succeed at St. James’ Park.

McClaren is a genuinely good manager and a superb coach, and Newcastle fans should be optimistic about the 2015-16 campaign.
If the Englishman is able to bring in the players he wants this summer, then he will be able to make the team competitive enough to challenge for a top-10 finish in the Premier League next season.
It will not be easy for Newcastle to finish in the top half of the table next season, though, especially as there are a number of teams who will be fighting for those spots.
