Joe Miller has a message for Nadir Ciftci

Celtic FC

Nadir Ciftci joined Celtic from Scottish Premiership rivals Dundee United.

Joe Miller has told The Daily Record that Nadir Ciftci is not guaranteed a place in Celtic’s starting line-up despite getting the number seven shirt.

The Turkish forward has moved to the Bhoys from Scottish Premiership rivals Dundee United on a four-year contract, as reported by BBC Sport.

The Hoops had to pay Terrors as much as £1.5 million as transfer fee, according to the report.

Ciftci is one of the best strikers in the Premier League, but former Celtic attacker Miller - who donned number seven for the Bhoys just like the 23-year-old will, believes that he will have to earn his place in Ronny Deila’s starting line-up.

“In the days when I wore No.7 it was huge as it meant I was playing,” Miller told The Daily Record.

“Nadir might have it now but it might get you a place on the bench or maybe in the stand.

“That’s the bottom line for Ciftci, numbers should mean nothing to him, getting into the side is all that should concern him.

“He certainly has ability but he has a habit of being a 45-minute player where he’d be brilliant and then disappear.”

Good signing for Celtic?

Ciftci is one of the best strikers in the Premiership and has been in brilliant form for the past two seasons.

In the 2013-14 campaign, the former Turkey Under-19 international scored 17 goals and in 2014-15 he found the target 16 times.

Ciftci is a very good striker who can score different kinds of goals and also brings his teammates into play.
