Bastian Schweinsteiger

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has his say on the signing of Bastian Schweinsteiger by Manchester United.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the news that Bastian Schweinsteiger is on his way to Manchester United.

United have announced on their official website that they have agreed a deal with Bayern Munich to sign the Germany international midfielder this summer.

The 30-year-old has yet to agree personal terms and undergo a medical, but it seems that he will feature for the Red Devils next season.

While former Liverpool defender Carragher does have a valid concern about the German playing with Michael Carrick in midfield, United fans should still be optimistic about Schweinsteiger.

Although the 2014 World Cup winner has struggled with injuries of late, when fit he is a world-class midfielder.

The 2013 Champions League winner is an all-round midfielder who is as good defensively as he is when going on the attack.

United manager Louis van Gaal has worked with Schweinsteiger before, and the Dutchman will certainly find a way to play the German and Carrick together in midfield.
