Slovenian international midfielder Rene Krhin is close to completing a loan move to Granada, according to local newspaper Ideal, with their sporting director and club president finalising the details of a deal with Inter Milan.
The 25-year-old was reported by the Daily Mail as being a target for Leeds United, during the January transfer window earlier this year, but the player eventually opted to try his fortune in La Liga, joining Cordoba instead.
Although his talents ultimately couldn't help Cordoba avoid relegation at the end of the 2014-15 campaign, his performances were impressive enough to catch the eye of other La Liga clubs.
In June, newspaper ABC Sevilla reported that Sevilla sporting director Monchi was interested, with his agent Marcel Kacinari commenting: "Krhin wants to continue his career in Spain, but right now, it's not right for me to discuss our negotiations."
Primarily a defensive midfielder, Sevilla have since moved to sign Steven N'Zonzi from Stoke City, as their replacement for Stephane M'Bia, who departed at the end of the season for Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.
Krhin still remains keen on a return to La Liga, above any other competition, having enjoyed his Spanish footballing experience, which has lead Granada to make their move.
At this stage, the negotiations between Granada and Inter Milan are at an advanced stage, boosted by the good relationship the two clubs have, after the Italians recently completed their €10 million capture of Colombian centre-back, Jeison Murillo.
Granada are also keen to see the deal reach a successful conclusion, over the coming days, before the first-team squad head for the second stage of their pre-season schedule at La Manga.
