Danny Higginbotham reacts on Twitter to Fabian Delph reports

Former Manchester United, Derby County and Sunderland defender Higginbotham has his say on the Aston Villa midfielder’s reported move to Manchester City.

Former Manchester United defender Danny Higginbotham has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to reports that Fabian Delph will leave Aston Villa for Manchester City today.

According to BBC Sport, the England international midfielder will undergo a medical and complete his move to City today.

The Guardian claims that the Citizens will have to pay a transfer fee of £8 million for the services of the former Leeds United star after activating the release clause.

Former Derby County and Sunderland defender Higginbotham believes that Manuel Pellegrini’s side will be making a very good signing in the 25-year-old.

It will be a step-up for Delph, but he will find it tough to break into City’s starting line-up.

As good as the Englishman is, he is not a world-class midfielder. This means that Delph will have to raise his game while trying to find regular playing time at the Etihad Stadium.

City have some of the best midfielders in the Premier League, such as Samir Nasri and David Silva, and Delph will have to work hard right from the start.
