The Celtic faithful were delighted with the 23-year-old's short debut.

Nadir Ciftci may have divided opinion in the build-up to his Celtic move but, now that the Turkish forward is a Bhoy, fans of the Scottish champions appear to be getting right behind him.

So much so that there is already talk of the summer signing being a better option up front as a lone striker than Leigh Griffiths.

Indeed, Ronny Deila's praise of Ciftci after he came on during Friday night's 1-0 friendly win over Real Sociedad spoke volumes, with the boss suggesting he is in with a chance of a Champions League start against Stjarnan.

Could Griffiths have something to worry about in the short term? Some on Twitter are intrigued by the threat Ciftci already poses, having shown promising signs against David Moyes' men.

Of course, the other option for Celtic is to play both up front, with Ciftci clearly adding plenty for the Bhoys. His quality isn't exactly bad news for the Hoops.

Griffiths, though, who also looked good against Sociedad, will want to remind people he was the club's top scorer last term. For Ciftci is stealing a bit of the limelight, according to Celtic fans on Twitter...
