Manchester United target Harry Kane expressed his excitement at Tottenham's new stadium, but prioritised his love of NFL over football.
Prolific Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has given his reaction to the club's new stadium plans, but perhaps didn't entirely think it through.
The England international is on holiday at present, and used Twitter to send a message to supporters.
In doing so he expressed his excitement at the plans which were unveiled earlier this week, particularly the agreement with the NFL to host two regular season games at the stadium per season.
Kane is a big American Football fan, but in sending his message he managed to spark worry among his own supporters.
Kane crucially left out mentioning any comment of his desire to play at the stadium. While restricted to just 140 characters via Twitter, considering Kane is a transfer target for Manchester United, as reported by The Sun, perhaps it would have been wise to communicate that as his priority?
The striker may simply have been taking that as a given, with a contract until 2020 and the stadium opening in 2018, but a statement of intent from the striker regarding his future would have been more welcome than a message about the NFL.
Supporters responding to Kane's tweet expressed their views, hoping that it was purely a case of Kane not thinking it through, rather than sinisterly omitting his intentions.
Here is a look at the reaction...
@hkane28 I just hope you're still wearing a Spurs shirt when you do see it...— Firthy (@firthy76) July 10, 2015
@hkane28 you mean..cant wait to play football here...— Scott Thompson (@scott_thompson6) July 9, 2015
@hkane28 This is such a disappointing& underwhelming reaction. Forget about NFL what about playing & finishing your career in this stadium?— dominic (@Dominic_667) July 9, 2015
