Swindon Town have announced, on the club's official website, the signing of highly-rated prospect Jordan Williams on a season-long loan from Liverpool.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who can also play at centre-back, made his Anfield bow in last season's Capital One Cup clash versus Middlesbrough, before spending the latter part of last term on loan with League One outfit Notts County; for whom he recorded eight appearances.
Back in January, Williams signed a new two-and-a-half year contract to keep him at Anfield until the summer of 2017; a reward from manager Brendan Rodgers for the progress he made last term. He had regularly been promoted to train with the first-team at Melwood throughout the previous campaign.
The Wales under-21 international becomes Town's second signing of the summer, following the arrival of former Arsenal full-back Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill. In a window of rebuilding for Swindon chief Mark Cooper, this added Premier League quality could prove instrumental.
Williams could soon be followed by team-mates Ryan Kent and Kevin Stewart, as per local news outlet FLIC Sport, who are both expected to join Town on loan before the beginning of the upcoming campaign. The Liverpool trio are likely play a pivotal role at the County Ground, as the Robins seek to replicate last season's push for promotion.
