Report: Sunderland preparing offer for French winger Paul-Georges Ntep

Sunderland have been linked to Ntep, who is also wanted by West Ham.

The Daily Mail claimed that the Hammers were looking to sign Ntep this summer, having seen a bid rejected by Rennes, but now Le10 Sport suggest Sunderland are in for him.

The 22-year-old winger, who recently became a fully-capped French international, is the centre of the Black Cats’ attentions, and the report claims that they are preparing an offer for the youngster - said to be in the region of £6.5 million.

The Ligue 1 outfit have yet to receive a bid, but it is stated that Ntep is open to testing himself in the Premier League and could be looking for a move.

Who is Paul-Georges Ntep?

The 22-year-old is a winger, who can play on both sides of the field. He started his career with Auxerre, moving to Rennes in January 2014, and building a reputation as a real talent for the future. He scored 20 goals in 62 games for Auxerre, and has managed 14 goals and seven assists during his 51 games with Rennes.

He recently made his full debut for France, coming on as a substitute in the 4-3 loss to Belgium back in June. He registered an assist despite being on the field for just 10 minutes, and then registered 31 minutes of action the following week in France’s shock 1-0 loss to Albania.
