Report: Aston Villa submit bid for Alexander Milosevic

Aston Villa

Aston Villa have submitted an offer to sign the Besiktas defender.

According to Turkish publication Fanatik, Aston Villa have submitted a formal approach to Besiktas for defender Alexander Milosevic.

It is stated that the Swedish Under-21 international has been the subject of a £3.6 million bid by Villa, who are looking to bring Milosevic to Villa park this summer.

The Birmingham-based club scouted him for much of last season, and are ready to bring him to the Premier League having been suitably impressed by the 23-year-old centre-back.

Who is Alexander Milosevic?

Milosevic, a 23-year-old Swedish international, is a centre-back who has played for Besiktas only since January. He started his career with Vasalunds IF, before moving on to AIK Stockholm in 2011. He completed his switch to Turkey in the last transfer window, and only made three appearances for Slaven Bilic’s former side.

He has 86 appearances to his name during his time in his homeland, and is a fully-capped Swedish international - with three caps. However, he spent the summer just gone playing with his nation’s Under-21 side as they claimed the European Under-21 Championship title as their own.

He is well regarded for his physical traits, and his positioning ability, even if he is unproven in a top division. There will be doubts about Milosevic until he develops further, but at his young age he would be a wise signing for Villa, as they would be signing a real prospect for a much smaller fee than he will demand in the future.
