QPR remain in pole position to sign highly-rated midfielder Callum Chettle

HITC Sport understands that the Loftus Road outfit are lining up a move and hope to fend off interest from elsewhere.

Queens Park Rangers are lining up a move for non-league ace Callum Chettle, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the potential deal.

The 19-year-old is currently with Ilkeston FC in the Northern Premier League, who he joined after leaving Nottingham Forest's academy.

He made his senior debut at 16, and the gifted young midfielder has emerged as a first-team regular.

His displays have caught the eye of a number of clubs, with Premier League and Championship sides taking a keen interest in securing his services.

Now HITC Sport has learned that QPR are in pole position to land the gifted teenage playmaker.

The Loftus Road outfit are looking to piece together a side capable of bouncing back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Plenty of emphasis is being placed on a long-term plan, though, with the club looking to bring in talent for the present and future.

Chettle – son of Nottingham Forest legend Steve – would certainly appear to tick that box.
