Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi has taken to social networking site Twitter in order to wish former teammate Yohan Cabaye well on his new adventure with Crystal Palace.
The former Newcastle United midfielder joins former boss Alan Pardew at Selhurst Park, agreeing to a four-year contract, with Palace paying the French giants in excess of £10million, as per Sky Sports.
It represents a real coup for the Eagles, not only signing a top quality midfielder but managing to lure the French international to South London ahead of other potential suitors.
On learning of the transfer, Cabaye’s former PSG teammate Matuidi had kind words to say on Twitter, writing: “Thank you my friend for the good times, good luck in your new adventure.”
After joining PSG from the Magpies in January 2014, the 29-year-old went on to make 39 French top-flight appearances and helped the club win five domestic honours, including two Ligue 1 titles.
His inability to establish himself as a first-team regular, however, prompted uncertainty over his future and a move back to the Premier League always seemed likely.
