Ian Wright reacts on Twitter to Yohan Cabaye signing for Crystal Palace

The former Newcastle United midfielder has joined Crystal Palace and their iconic ex-striker is delighted.

Ian Wright has sent Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish a congratulatory message on Twitter after the south London club completed the signing of former Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

Wright is remembered fondly for his exploits as an Arsenal striker - but it all started for the forward at Palace, a club he still has plenty of love for.

The now pundit often expresses his views about the Eagles on Twitter and he couldn't resist praising Parish on social media for what many feel is already the signing of the summer in ex-Newcastle man Cabaye.

The 29-year-old joins Crystal Palace after leaving Champions League side Paris Saint-Germain behind, having failed to break into the French outfit's first team and win himself a regular starting place.

Cabaye will now link up with his former manager at the Magpies, Alan Pardew, who swapped St James' Park for Selhurst last season.

Naturally, Wright and everyone associated with Crystal Palace are delighted the south London club have been able to secure a midfielder of such ability and experience this summer.

Cabaye spent three years with Newcastle - how long will his Palace spell last?
