Chelsea star Oscar the hero in re-edited version of Brazil’s 7-1 horror show

Oscar, Courtois - Chelsea

We all know that Brazil fans would rather forget their World Cup humbling at the hands of Germany but this is ridiculous.

A rather imaginative Brazil fan has re-edited a video of the Selecao’s 7-1 World Cup semi-final defeat at the hands of Germany last year.

In the newly revised edition, the South Americans come out on top, in a 1-0 victory sealed by a late goal from Chelsea midfielder Oscar.

The video is the work of YouTube user Zekiel79, who uses every trick in the book to create a very different version of football history.

Players are moved, goals are ruled out for offside and, on other occasions, the camera either cuts away from the action, or the ball momentarily disappears.

An inventive and visually impressive effort nonetheless, the clip is unlikely to heal the scars left from what will undoubtedly remain as Brazil’s darkest World Cup moment ever.

Not only was the loss their biggest ever and the worst witnessed at that stage of the competition - but it also featured a record-breaking goal from Miroslav Klose.

That goal saw the German leapfrog Brazil icon Ronaldo to become the outright greatest World Cup goalscorer of all time.

Watch this video, however, and the whole thing might seem like a bad dream. And a very good one for Chelsea's Oscar.

Except it wasn’t.
