Aston Villa media round-up: Mark Bunn completes switch, Adebayor links resurface

A selection of stories in the media involving Aston Villa in the last 24 hours…

Mark Bunn’s move to Villa Park was confirmed on Thursday, with the 30-year old keeper signing a two-year deal, as announced on the club’s official website.

The former Norwich City stopper was a free agent after the Canaries allowed his contract to run down and Villa have swooped to provide cover for Brad Guzan.

Mark Bunn’s arrival coincides with the release of veteran Shay Given, who looked set for Middlesbrough but is now due to complete a move to Stoke.

The Irish international is believed to have completed a medical with The Potters, according to Sky Sports, and a deal now looks imminent.

Tottenham Hotspur outcast Emmanuel Adebayor has again been linked with a Tim Sherwood reunion at Villa, this time by L’Equipe, with the French publication claiming the Villa boss still holds an interest in his former player.

It comes after the Daily Mail reported that Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear the Togolese striker will not be given a first team chance at Spurs next season.

Meanwhile, Spanish left-back Antonio Luna has been confirmed as an Eibar player on the club’s official website.

The full-back has struggled since his £1.5 million switch from Sevilla two years ago and spent last season on loan in Italy.

Finally, Villa have been ruled out of the running for Cordoba forward Florin Andone by the player’s agent.

In comments published by Diario Cordoba, agent Juan Jose Moral admitted that "two English clubs" are interested in his client but pointed out "Aston Villa aren't one of them".
