Chery has been linked with making a summer switch to Villa Park in recent weeks, and his agent has told SoccerNews that he will likely make a choice on his future concerning money.
He said: "There are for Tjaronn very attractive offers from other countries. He thinks a lot about the life and how things are going. That shows he definitely takes them [the offers] into account. His mother is all for him, she is his queen. Maybe he will therefore make a choice for the monetary benefit."
Whilst players chasing money is generally a bad move, Chery is not doing it for personal gain.
He is doing it to help his family, and whilst man money chasing players move to the likes of China, MLS or the UAE, Chery is more likely to end up in a different European league. The Birmingham Mail claimed that Aston Villa had made a bid for the midfielder, although the deal has yet to progress from that stage.
However, Villa have been given a boost due to his comments, as with the Premier League’s financial strength, they can offer a much higher wage packet than many of their rival European clubs interested in Chery.
The playmaker would be a great signing for Villa, having excelled in the Eredivisie last term. He fulfils a creative role which is currently absent in the Villa ranks, and with his latest remarks if appears as if the 27-year-old is pushing for a move away from the Netherlands this summer.
