Steve McClaren gives update on Newcastle’s transfer activity

Steve McClaren assures the Newcastle United fans that the club are close to signing new players.

Newcastle United head coach Steve McClaren had told BBC Newcastle that the club are close to making their first signings of the summer transfer window.

The former Nottingham Forest and Derby County manager has also stated that he has identified a number of players he wants to bring in before the start of the 2015-16 campaign.

Newcastle have yet to make a single signing this summer, and it is understandable why the fans are getting frustrated.

The Magpies narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League last season, and they need to recruit good players this summer.

Although negotiations over transfers take time, pre-season training has started and preparations for the 2015-16 campaign are in full swing.

It is high time that Newcastle bring in the players that McClaren is interested in so that they can settle in quickly at the club and get ready for next season.
