The Romania international joined Spurs from Steaua Bucharest in the summer of 2013, the club using a chunk of the Garth Bale sale to bring him in.
However, the 25-year-old defender has struggled to impress at White Hart Lane and featured just eight times in the Premier League last season under boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Following the recent addition of Toby Alderweireld, Chichires’ future in North London has been placed further into doubt and fresh reports state a switch to Turkey is very much on the cards.
“Galatasary have bid £3.6 million for Vlad Chiriches, the club are holding out for £5 million. Galatasary requested to talk to the player, and proposed a four-year contract,” the Spor.haber7.com report states.
Should Tottenham Hotspur sell Vlad Chiriches?
Following the signing of Alderweireld, the North Londoners now boast plenty of competition at the back, with Eric Dier, Jan Vertonghen and Federico Fazio among others providing options.
Chiriches represents a missed opportunity for Spurs, with many believing the club squandered much of the money generated by Bale's sale on risky foreign imports who failed to adapt in the Premier League.
The Romanian star seemingly doesn’t have a future at the club and selling him now would allow boss Pochettino to perhaps use the cash to strengthen other areas of the team.
