Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph has been left out of the squad which has flown to Portugal, according to The Birmingham Mail.
The Villa squad has travelled to Portugal for a warm-weather training camp, as the Premier League outfit continue their preparations for the 2015-16 campaign.
Manager Tim Sherwood and his players flew out this morning, but Delph was left behind, according to The Birmingham Mail.
The British newspaper claims that the England international did not travel with his teammates because his wife Natalie is expecting their second child.
Future in doubt
There has been speculation in recent weeks over the future of Delph, who joined Villa from Leeds United in 2009.
According to The Telegraph, Premier League giants Manchester City are interested in signing the 25-year-old, who has reportedly held talks with Sherwood regarding his future.
The former Leeds star is one of the best players in the current Villa squad, and his absence could be detrimental to the Villans’ chances of survival in the Premier League next season.
