Report: Crystal Palace to make cash plus player offer for Charlie Austin

QPR forward Charlie Austin has been linked with Newcastle United, Southampton, West Ham United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace will make a cash plus player offer for Queens Park Rangers forward Charlie Austin, according to The Guardian.

It has been reported by the British newspaper that Premier League outfit Palace will offer £6 million and two players in exchange for the 26-year-old.

Fraizer Campbell, Adrian Mariappa, Barry Bannan and/or Adlene Guedioura will be part of the deal that the Eagles are reportedly set to offer their London rivals.

“QPR would consider taking Campbell and Mariappa from Palace but will demand a higher cash figure as part of the deal – taking the cash part of the offer closer to £10m,” states the report in The Guardian. “Palace, though, hope to reach a compromise.”

Should Queens Park Rangers accept the offer?

According to The Guardian, QPR value Austin at £15m and have already rejected a bid of £12m from Leicester City for the 26-year-old.

However, Palace’s reported offer is quite interesting and something that Rangers should take some time in considering.

The Championship outfit are going to use the £15m they hope to get from the sale of Austin to sign players anyway, and perhaps they should look at the players they are being offered by Palace.

Other interested clubs

According to The Sun, Austin is Newcastle United’s top target, while The Mirror claims that Southampton, West Ham United and Villa are interested in him.

The Telegraph has reported of Premier League champions Chelsea’s interest in the 25-year-old, while last month The Northern Echo claimed that Liverpool made contact with former Swindon Town forward’s representatives.
