Marseille midfielder Florian Thauvin is resisting transfer talk to insist he remains focused on his current club.
At the start of the month the Shields Gazette reported the Toon had a £10 million bid rejected for Thauvin.
He last night took to his Twitter page to communicate his focus to Marseille's fans. His message read:
"Our prep continues with the team for the resumption of the season! Only one thing in mind #workhard"
Thauvin's message indicates his commitment to the Ligue 1 side, who have been rocked by departures of key players over the past month.
Dmitri Payet was sold to West Ham, while last season's top scorer Andre Pierre Gignac left on a free transfer to sign with a Mexican club.
Marseille also sold highly rated midfielder Giannelli Imbula to Porto, but appear resistant to letting Thauvin go, much to Newcastle's frustration, with new manager Steve McClaren anxiously trying to secure the club's first signing.
Thauvin remains a long term target for Newcastle, with The Telegraph reporting back in 2013 that the club were planning to make a bid for the winger.
