Tottenham's Kyle Walker may have chosen to regret the time he went up against Manchester United new boy Matteo Darmian.

Matteo Darmian may still be much of an unknown to a number of English football fans, but for Premier League star Kyle Walker he is a player he may rather want to forget.

The Italian international left the Tottenham star sprawling on the turf during the friendly match against the Three Lions back in March.

Darmian is on the verge of clinching a move to Manchester United, and will get the chance to face Walker and Tottenham at least twice next season.

The Guardian reported Darmian has agreed a four-year deal with the Red Devils after Torino sanctioned his sale, with the Serie A side's boss saying he believes the defender deserves the move.

Giampiero Ventura said: "Because of his desire, humility and will to achieve things, it’s right to grant him the opportunity to realise a dream to play in the Champions League in a team that will fight to win it."

The report in The Guardian added Darmian is due to undergo his medical at Carrington on Friday.

During the 1-1 draw against England, Darmian also went directly up against Liverpool new boy Nathaniel Clyne, who United chose not to sign when made available by Southampton.
