Van Persie United

Former Arsenal captain Robin van Persie could leave Manchester United for Fenerbahce this summer.

Fenerbahce have announced on their official Twitter page that they have started talks with Manchester United over the transfer of Robin van Persie.

Van Persie has been on the books of United since 2012 and has a contract until June 2016, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

It now seems that the former Arsenal striker could be on his way out of Old Trafford and to Turkey before the start of the 2015-16 campaign.

Van Persie has been struggling with injuries and modest form for two years now, and he is not guaranteed a place in United’s starting line-up.

The Netherlands international scored 10 goals and created 26 chances in 27 Premier League appearances last season.

The former Arsenal captain had a pass accuracy of 85% and a shot accuracy of 56%, and won 32 headers, 21 dribbles and 15 tackles.

During the 2013-14 campaign, Van Persie scored 12 goals and created 17 chances in 21 Premier League matches.
