Dundee United have once again chosen, somewhat reluctantly to sell a star player to Scottish champions Celtic.
Nadir Ciftci completed his transfer this week, as reported The BBC, ending what was beginning to be a drawn out saga over his future.
He follows Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven, who clinched moves from Dundee United to Celtic on deadline day earlier this year.
Dundee United then went onto lose a run of fixtures to Ronny Deila's side, including the Scottish League Cup final, and the Scottish Cup quarter-final.
Ciftci's departure may have been inevitable with the 23-year-old looking for a new challenge after two years at the club, but surely anywhere but Celtic would have been preferable to the club's fans.
The club are in rebuild mode at the moment, with three key players departing over the past few months, and need to get new players recruited with pre-season already underway.
The striker has a Scottish FA charge for misconduct to answer, and if he receives a large ban when it is heard later this month, United may feel they have done well to cash in while they can, irrespective of destination.
Here is a look at how Dundee United fans reacted to Ciftci's departure to Celtic...
1.5 million for Ciftci not a bad deal would rather he went anywhere else though!Just hope we spend a little at least on a replacement. #Dufc— Jimmy Mckirdy (@JimmyMcKirdy) July 7, 2015
